This little church (St Archangel Michael) stands up above the centre
of Trebinje, not dominating, just very visible. I went into the
Tourist Information and asked about the church, and was basically told
not to visit, because it was not a tourist location: the church I should
visit was the Gradine Church up on a hill across the river, or at least
the Temple of the Transfiguration of Our Lord.
Well, what do you think I did? Of course, I climbed up to St
Archangel Michael (the little church) and gave Gradine a miss.
...
When I got up there, it was really worth it for the panoramic views...
There was an old chap taking his ease in the shade, and after I had
taken loads of photos, he showed me that I could get up higher, up to
the entrance to the church (which was locked).
