An excellent Xmas present, this book is an absolutely beautiful (presumably true) story about a woman living in the countryside during the pandemic (normally she is a jet-setting urban dweller) who finds a tiny hare leveret exposed in the grass while on a walk and takes it home. Such a lyrical re-telling of the story of the relationship between a human and a wild animal; it moves on to the changes of world-view that the experience engenders in the author – a world-view that could encompass the Right to Roam movement, re-wilding and the de-industrialisation of agriculture..
