Montol 2018 – schedule (update, 17 Dec) …

Montol Schedule – 21st Dec 2018

I have found it rather difficult to find a timetable for Montol this year (although that fits in with the commendably anarchic quality of the event) but I did finally find the following information from Simon Reed on Facebook on 22 October (my interpretation of a prose post!) and now (17 Dec) with some oral updates I have received:

1pm – entertainment in the street and a small market (presumably around Causewayhead and Market Place): food concessions for the hungry reveller – aimed at family audiences
2 pm – Oss appears (White Lion, Greenmarket?)
3.30 pm – Land & Sea (top of Causewayhead)
4pm – Sundown procession (down from top of Causewayhead?)
5pm  – fire performances through the town/music in Chapel Street
6pm  – main procession from Chapel Street up to Princess May Rec in Treneer (will involve two bands: Montol/Raffidy Dumitz and Golowan!! Go Joza!!!)
?6.30 pm – Montol fire at Princess May
?7.30 pm – Guise Guilds tour town
9.30 pm – Cornish Carols starting outside Union Hotel
10 PM – torchlit procesion to fire ?behind Dock Inn
?10.30 pm – chalking of Mock and bonfire ?behind Dock Inn

No doubt Simon will put something more definitive out soon..! (or maybe not!!)
